You will also attend the Papal Audience, learn about some of Italy’s beloved Saints, and attend Mass. Learn about St. Pio of Pietrelcina, a modern-day saint with a visit Monte Sant’Angelo and continue to Greece. “For we walk by faith, not by sight,” wrote the Apostle Paul to the Corinthians. Following some of their steps, you’ll visit Igoumenitsa, Thessaloniki, Meteora, Delphi, Athenes, and Holy Monastery Hosios Loukas on this memorable pilgrimage.

Day 1: Transfer from Barcelona airport to the hotel.

Day 2: Guided morning tour and free afternoon.

Day 3: Departure to Zaragoza with a guided visit of the Monastery of Montserrat.

Italy has over 50 sites of extreme beauty recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Therefore, it is currently the country with the highest number of them in the world.

The only three active volcanoes in Europe, Etna, Stromboli and Vesuvius, are all in southern Italy. Etna is also the most active volcano in the world. It has been in almost continuous eruption for the past 3,500 years and has spewed lava on a daily basis since 1999.

Staying on the topic of food, another curiosity is about Nutella: Italy is the place where it was born. It all began in Cuneo in 1964 where Ferrero, a famous Italian company, starting from previous experiments on a cream called Supercrema, ended up giving rise to the sweet and delicious Nutella!
